I’ve been told many times that your tastebuds change as you get older. I have no idea if that is scientifically proven but it certainly seemed to be the case with me. This year I started liking two foods that I didn’t use to like.
I have hated tomatoes all my life. I didn’t like them cooked or raw; although I did like tomato based products (ketchup, spaghetti sauce, etc.). Every year I try at least one bite of tomato thinking that maybe this year will be the year I start to like them, and every year I still can’t make myself like the taste. Until this year. This year I tried my annual bite of tomato and found that I didn’t mind – in fact, I found that I kept wanting more! I still don’t really like big chunks of mushy tomato that has been cooked but I definitely like tomatoes on my salad. Yay!
The other thing I didn’t use to like was honey. I’ve never liked it but I didn’t really feel the need to try it like I tried tomatoes. For some reason this year I decided to give honey another shot and low and behold, I liked it. It’s especially yummy with peanut butter!
And now you know more random facts about me.
