This past Saturday we were generously and spontaneously gifted Titan’s tickets to Sunday’s game. The game started at noon and we knew that if we went to church here in Bowling Green we wouldn’t get to the game until it was nearly over. We decided instead to go to church in Nashville so we would be much closer – it just so happens that Old Hickory Church of Christ, where my friend Bethany goes, had an early enough service that we could go there and still get to the game on time. A fun day made even better since I got to be with friends!
After church let out it was really too early for lunch but we knew if we didn’t eat then that we would be hungry during the game and have to buy expensive, unhealthy food at the stadium. We decided to go ahead and get some “lunch” at Subway (it was close to 10:30). Because it was so early, they were still serving breakfast. I’ve never had breakfast at Subway but I had been wanting to try it since they first starting offering it so I got a breakfast sandwich. Yum yum! I was very impressed. I’m really not a Subway fan and don’t prefer to eat there for lunch, but I can definitely say that if I’m traveling or out early and need to eat breakfast on the go, Subway would be my choice.
I had an English muffin with egg white, pepper jack cheese, and some veggies (cucumber, green pepper, and banana pepper I think). It was defintiely not a huge meal. For a normal breakfast I would need two of these or something a little more substantial, but since I was still pretty full from breakfast this was the perfect size. I looked on the Subway website for nutritional facts and I think this came out to be about 150 calories. If only they had this option all day – I liked it much better than their sandwiches!
I very rarely eat breakfast out, especially since it is so hard to find anything healthy for breakfast at fast food restaurants. But now I know that I have this option if needed. Getting a healthy breakfast at Subway works for me! (Linking up to Works for Me Wednesday at We are THAT Family)
By the way, the Titan’s won. We made it to the game on time and had a good time. (Did you know they pat you down before you can go into the stadium? Awkward.) Here are a few pictures (not of the pat down – of the game):
