We’ve spent many hours on the road the past few days and I can tell you – I have no idea how people who have to drive lots for a living do it!
Michael was off work Friday for Veteran’s day so we decided to take a quick to Lexington to see our friends and do a little work on the house. Thursday night we drove up to Lexington in time to go to Thursday night dinner and devotional and spent Thursday night at Chris and Erin’s house (thanks again for letting us crash with you!). Friday morning I got up early in order to go to my old spin class at our old gym. It was a great workout and it was really fun to see all my spin buddies. After breakfast at Subway, I tried to get my hair cut but my hairdresser had forgotten I was coming in and so she wasn’t at the salon. No haircut for me, so please ignore my crazy hair in any pictures from now until I can find someone in Bowling Green.
We ate lunch with Michael’s old co-worker’s at Chick-Fil-A.
And then went to meet baby Nora for the first time. I loved holding her :). We spent the rest of Friday cleaning up the house to get it ready for an open house on Sunday (please sell, house, please!). Friday night we went to singing night at church. I had missed that wonderful singing so much! After singing night we drove back to Bowling Green.
Saturday morning we got up early and drove to Springfield to meet Mom. We rode with her to Mayfield to pick up my Mema and Mom’s cousin. Then we all went to Freed Hardeman to see Riley perform in Guys and Dolls. He did great! Then it was back to Mayfield, back to Springfield, and back to Bowling Green. We felt like long-haul truckers for sure!
Sunday we went to church and spent the day getting caught up on important things like laundry, rest, and Jack Bauer.
Monday (today) was back on the road as I went from Bowling Green to Madison for the day. I had an assignment for one of my grad school classes where I had to teach a lesson and turn in student samples. Since I no longer have a classroom of my own, I needed to borrow some kiddos and Goodpasture was kind enough to let me use theirs :). Then it was back to Bowling Green to pack and turn around and head back to Nashville. Michael has another training this week in Nashville and I’m going to go with him. I have a research paper, a write up for the lesson I taught today at Goodpasture, and another big assignment due next week so I doubt I will see much outside the hotel room. But it will still be nice to have a change of scenery and we can do some fun stuff at night.
Off to pack!
