Hot Ranch Crackers

These hot ranch crackers are so easy and so good.  A lady at our church used to make them for us to take as snacks on our Mexico mission trips; I had forgotten about them until I started seeing similar recipes floating around Pinterest.  I bought a box of saltine crackers last week while I was sick – now that I’m better I have no use for them so I dug out my old recipe and decided to give these yummy crackers a try!

If you love spicy food you are going to love these!  They’re so easy to make and they give you a deliciously spicy cracker!  These are perfect to eat on their own for a snack or pair with your favorite soup.

Hot Ranch Crackers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2-3 Tbsp crushed red pepper

Instructions

Mix oil, ranch mix, and crushed red pepper in a small mixing bowl.  Put the crackers in a large mixing bowl, pour the oil/ranch/crushed red pepper mix over the crackers and gently stir until all crackers appear covered (you may need to use your hands if you’re having a hard time stirring with a spoon or spatula).

Let the crackers sit and soak while you preheat your oven to 250 degrees (5 to 10 minutes).  Spread crackers out on a cookie sheet.  There may be a bit of the oil mixture left at the bottom of the bowl – drizzle the excess over the crackers once you’ve spread them on the sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring about halfway through.

Let cool then enjoy!

(Note: these can also be made with oyster crackers)

We love these seasoned crackers. Our granddaughter brought some for New Year’s and we are ready to make more.

You do not have to bake thesee crackers. Put all crackers in a gallon jar. Mix 1 1/4 cup canola oil, I package ranch, 1 tbsp. Crushed peppers, 1 tbsp. Cayenne pepper. Pour over crackers in jar. Rotate jar, turn over, about 8 to 10 monutes, till no oil flowing on sides of jar. Delicious. Hope u try this, I have been making for years. Store in jar you made them it. Stags good for weeks.
