I order a lot of stuff online and I ship quite a bit from my home so I keep our delivery people hopping, especially this time of year! In some of the Facebook groups I’m in I saw people sharing pictures of snack boxes they were leaving out on their porches for their delivery people and I thought that was brilliant!
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and any other delivery drivers work SO much this time of year! They often work incredibly long hours and are trying so hard to get the packages delivered that they don’t have time to stop and eat. Leaving some snacks that are easy to eat while they deliver is an easy and appreciated way to help them out.
The kids and I assembled a box with some water, gatorade, crackers, granola bars, and apples. I made a note to attach to the box so that they know it’s for them and I’m sharing the note here with you so that you can use it to make your own snack box. We’ll replenish the snacks and drinks every evening to make sure there is plenty in there for the next several weeks. Next year I’ll plan to have this ready to set out as soon as Thanksgiving is over because I’ve noticed here that a couple of days after Thanksgiving (aka a few days after Black Friday) the amount of packages and mail deliveries increased a ton and hasn’t slowed down since!
I hope this blesses our hard working mail people this holiday season!

Update in 2022: We’ve continued to do this every year – we love doing it and our drivers are always so appreciative :)
We’ve since moved and now live where Amazon delivers so I made a new version that includes our Amazon drivers. We also have a side porch where deliveries are often dropped off, rather than made two baskets I just made a sign for the side door telling them to come to the front. I’ve included that here for you too in case you have a situation like that as well.
