Classical Conversations Community Day Checklist

Last year was our first year participating in Classical Conversations and oh my…each week I felt a little like a chicken with my head cut off trying to make sure I had everything we needed for our community days!  Snacks and lunches and presentations and more!  I am a list maker so I would make little lists each week to help keep me organized.  Then I had a lightbulb moment…instead of having to wrack my brain every week to remember what I needed to bring, what if I just created a master checklist that I could reuse over and over?!  And so my Classical Conversations Community Day Checklist was born.

I sat down and tried to think of the items that we usually need every week.  I made a checklist then went ahead and typed in those items I’d need every week.  I also left several blank check boxes to use for additional things that come up.

Because of covid craziness there are few items on here that wouldn’t normally be (like temperature checks) and also a few items that we don’t need right now (our community is not currently doing morning snacks and families that are Foundations only do not stay for lunch, so while I went ahead and put “snacks” and “lunches” on my list with optimism that we’ll need those again soon, right now I just mark those off each week since I don’t currently need them)

I printed this off and laminated it so that I could use a dry erase marker to add items, check things off as I pack up, and then wipe it clean to reuse for the next week.

It has made community day prep so much easier!CC community day checklist example

P.S. Did you know that Expo now makes extra thin dry erase markers?!  I just discovered them and they’re amazing!  They make it so much easier to write on the checklist!

P.P.S. This is the laminator I use and this is the printer we recently bought because it doesn’t use ink cartridges and will supposedly print for 2 years

I’ve provided a blank copy of my Classical Conversations Community Day checklist so that you can personalize it and make it your own!  To use it, save the image to your phone or computer.  If you’re not tech savvy just go ahead and print it off as is, write your list on there with a marker, and laminate.  Or if you have a bit of experience making graphics you can upload the image to your favorite graphics program (I use PicMonkey on my computer and the Over app on my phone) and type in your list like I did.classical conversations community day checklist
