Labor Prep Smoothie Recipe | Get Ready for Labor with this Delicious Drink!

How does a labor prep smoothie recipe that helps get your ready body for labor sound?  Yummy, I hope!

This might be totally fake but supposedly eating six dates a day in your last month of pregnancy can help you have a faster and easier labor.  I didn’t know that with my first two births but I tried it last time and…well…we all know how that turned out 😂 Who knows if my fast labor was due to the dates or not but yeah, I think it’s definitely worth a try!

I’m not a huge fan of eating 6 plain dates a day so I turn mine into this delicious smoothie instead!

🥤LABOR PREP SMOOTHIE RECIPE🥤

  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese (or yogurt)
  • 1 cup milk kefir (or just plain milk if you don’t like the sourness of kefir)
  • 6 dates
  • Large handful of spinach
  • 1 scoop of collagen (I use this brand)
  • 2ish tbsp peanut butter (I don’t really measure and just dump a bunch in there but I’d say it’s around 2 tablespoons)
  • Ice (I use 9 cubes to get the consistency I like)

Blend and enjoy!  Make sure you get a large cup because this makes about a quart of smoothie!

I’ve been drinking this smoothie every day for lunch; not only does it get my six dates in it also is super filling!  It’s got all kinds of goodies in it – protein (the cottage cheese), probiotics for gut health (the kefir), greens (the spinach – I can’t taste them at all so I always like adding spinach to smoothies to get extra veggies in), and the collagen is great for skin and joint health (both beneficial for labor prep).  Oh and I’m always hot right now thanks to the summery weather + my  pregnancy hormones so I love that it’s a nice, cold drink!

Try it and see what you think!

Curious what else I do in my last month of pregnancy to prep my body for labor?  Here’s a quick video I made sharing this smoothie recipe plus two other things:
