Christmas is coming and here is a big list of free Yoto Christmas content (or very, very cheap) that you can use for Make Your Own (MYO) cards for your Yoto player. These are great to use for an advent calendar/Christmas countdown…there are plenty of options here to make one card per day!
This is a compilation of all the free Yoto Christmas content I have found plus a few very inexpensive options. If you know of others, please leave a comment and I’ll update the post!
COUPON: I’m assuming that if you’re reading this post you already own a Yoto player and are searching for content to put on it, but just in case you don’t have one yet, here is a link you can use to get 10% off your Yoto from the Yoto website.
(Everything shared here is, to the best of my knowledge, legally allowed to be downloaded and used.)

FREE Christmas Books
- Pete the Cat Saves Christmas
- Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey
- The Night Before Christmas (this is a free version – not my favorite narration though so I bought a different version that I’ve linked below)
- A Christmas Carol
CHEAP Christmas Books
- The Night Before Christmas (there are several very cheap options on Downpour and Libro – this version was my favorite and the one I bought)
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (less than $2 here on Libro or here on Downpour)
Christmas Music
- 13 free songs and carols from Baby Mozart here
- Charlie Brown songs (just the songs from the movie)
- “A Christmas Pageant” (Sesame Street songs)
- John Denver/the Muppets Christmas songs
- Muppet Christmas (A Christmas Carol) songs
A note about Internet Archine: there are many things available on the Internet Archive (aka archive.org) for free/legal download. Scroll down past the tracks and choose “VBR MP3” to get them in the correct format to use on your Yoto.
Christmas Movies
- Full audio of How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie
- Another version of the full audio of the Grinch movie (all one track, not split up like above)
- Full audio of the Rudolph movie
- Mickey’s Christmas carol
You can do each of these into a separate card of course (which is great if you’re doing a Christmas countdown/advent and want a card for all 24 days) but I put two movie audios (the Grinch and Rudolf), Charlie Brown, Sesame Street Christmas, and both Muppets on one card. Here’s the label art I made for it, feel free to save and it use it yourself.
Other Miscellaneous Christmas Content
- Cinnamon Bear (original version) – this was a radio show with multiple eposides that aired back in the 1930s. You can download all the episodes as individual tracks and it’s a fun story to listen to.
Christmas Radio
I found a bunch of Christmas radio stations and put them together one one card (each “track” on the card was a separate radio station so my kids could toggle between the stations).
How to make a radio station Yoto card:
Making a radio station MYO card is very easy but it’s a little different than a standard story MYO so here are instructions in case you’ve never done it before:
- On the Yoto website go to the Make Your Own tab
- Select “Visit Library/Make Playlist”
- Click “+ Add Playlist”
- “Add Audio” should be selected as the default, this is where you upload mp3s of books/music. To do radio, click on the “Add Stream” button
- Copy a radio station link and paste it in the box.
- Hit save
- Then click “Add stream” again, paste another link, hit save, and continue over and over until you’ve added all the radio stations you want to link
- Add cover art, name it, and hit Create.
These are the Christmas station radio links I used (Some of these are Christian stations, others have secular Christmas music, so prescreen to determine which you are comfortable with)

Here’s some cover art you can save and use for your Christmas Radio Yoto card
Yoto Christmas Countdown/Advent
In the past years Yoto has done a Christmas countdown type thing. Each day in December they release a book/audio for the day – these are not strictly Christmas related but are a fun way to have something new each day. They’re typically “teasers” if you will of current Yoto cards – not the whole Yoto card but the first few tracks of one. Unfortunately you can’t keep adding them to the same MYO card each day so you’d either have to make a new MYO every day, reuse the same one and replace the content each day, or just listen straight from your phone instead of putting it on a card. We didn’t utilize this much last year but a lot of families love it. I made a MYO card cover you can save and use and then swap out the audio with each day’s new content if they do it again this year.
Other super CHEAP Christmas content
If you’re looking for some other cheap content, I highly recommend checking out Momma Bear Audio. She creates new content each month and it’s very inexpensive – $2.99 a month (cheaper if you use a coupon) and not only do you get access to the current month but you also get access to all the past months! It’s a great way to bulk up your Yoto library. She has a couple of Christmas-specific cards from last year (a Christmas games and activities one and a Christmas songs one) plus tons and tons of non-holiday ones (jokes, short stories, interactive adventures, sounds, music, dances, and more) – if you’re wanting to do a 24 day countdown/advent calendar of Yoto cards in general and don’t care that they’re all Christmasy, this is a fantastic way to get PLENTY (there are way more than 24 cards available) – you could fill up your whole countdown with just Momma Bear cards for such an affordable price!

Other Paid Content
And of course there are TONS of options out there for Christmas-related things you can purchase for the Yoto. I kept this blog post mainly focused on the free/very cheap options since I know many people are looking for inexpensive content but in case you want more, here are some other options.
- There are lots of Christmas books on Libro/Downpour in the $2 to $5 range. (click here to see all the children’s Christmas books on Libro / on Downpour you can’t easily see just the children’s books so you have to search through all the Christmas books to find them…Libro is definitely my preferred platform since it’s easier to use, but if you have the time to search Downpour you can find some great stuff there too)
- Yoto Christmas cards – Of course Yoto also has several Christmas cards. You can see all their Christmas/holiday cards HERE.
(You do not have to have a Libro membership to purchase individual books, but if you want to get a membership so you can get credits to use for more expensive books, make sure you use the code CHOOSEINDIE to get 2 additional credits when you sign up)
