My most recent quilt – a pink and teal Maypole Quilt! I’ve made this pattern once before in a baby size for my niece but this was my first time making a throw sized one.
I had a hard time picking the fabric out for this one but when I laid eyes on the teal with pink accents it all came together. I was able to pick coordinating fabrics and loved the color scheme. I don’t know if I’m just trained to look for cool summer colors now that I’ve been using my color analysis results for a few years picking my clothes, nails, etc. but I realized after I picked them that these fit perfectly in my Cool Summer palette!
The top was a super quick make – I got it all sewn in one afternoon. For the hand quilting I just did simple long lines down each stripe. It was easy quilting that I was able to work at while we watched tv at night.
I just love the crinkly goodness that the quilting adds! I’m forever in love with chunky hand quilting!
The tag on the back was made with the alphabet stiches on my machine. Someday I’d like to get more professional looking tags for my quilts but for now this does just fine and is way easier than hand embroidering the info like I used to do!
