Finished up this quilt recently – a rainbow Adventureland quilt. I think it just screams summer!
This quilt was a very quick make since it uses a jelly roll. I picked out a couple of jelly roll and put them on my birthday wish list; my 5 year old picked this one to buy me for my birthday and I’m glad she picked it…it was my favorite option out of the ones on my list.
I hand quilted the quilt and I love how it turned out! This was my first time ever doing a clamshell pattern so that was a fun new thing to try.
I’m so thrilled with how it turned out, I think it looks so cool!
The rainbow stripes were quilted with straight lines. I originally started with the same fushia thread that I used for the clamshells but felt like the dark thread took away from the rainbow stripes so I ended out ripping that out and switching to white. It was a bummer to scrap two hours of work and start over but I definitely like how it looked more with the white.
It’s so interesting to me how different lighting highlights the quilting differently! This picture taken with the sun right overhead really shows off its crinkly quilted goodness.
Something else I loved with this pattern is that I’m leftover with some pretty substantial scraps that I’ll be able to turn into a quilt or small doll quilt.
